Key Role Information

We are currently seeking a skilled and experience Injection Moulding Setter to join the mouldings team.  As an Injection Moulding Setter, you will be responsible for carrying out all preventative maintenance, safety checks and basic repairs on our moulding equipment.  This role is crucial in ensuring the smooth operation of our manufacturing processes and the production of high-quality products.  

 

The starting salary for the role is £28,000 per annum, working 39 hours a week with a 20-minute paid break.  Working Monday – Friday, with alternating weekly shift pattern of earlies 6:10 – 14:10 and lates 14:00 – 22:00, finishing an hour earlier on Fridays.

 

Recognising that these hours differ from a typical 9-5 jobs, we pay a 10% shift allowance for the early shift and a 20% shift allowance for the late shift.

Duties and Responsibilities

 

  • Fully understanding the manufacturing plans and being able to action those plans accordingly ensuring machines are set up to specification
  • Plans and carries out regular schedule of maintenance , troubleshooting any mechanical problems and applying technical fixes to minimise machine downtime
  • To ensure that mould tools are safely installed and machines are properly set, so that the products being manufactured are in accordance to the Specification Sheet and control sample
  • Ensuring the correct materials and stocks are used by operators in the manufacturing process
  • Monitor the quality of products produced against customer specification sheets and apply and remedial actions to any substandard products / production techniques
  • Ensuring all manufacturing documentation, machine operation and labelling is correct and suitable for its purpose and act as specialist support to train operators in association with Team Leaders
  • Communicate daily with the Mouldings Manager on any significant technical issues and report any issues which may impact production targets/ schedules
  • Support operators in all manufacturing processes to achieve best performance and best manufacturing practices

Requirements

 
  • Proven experience as a Injection Moulding Setter or in a similar role within a manufacturing environment
  • Competent mechanical aptitude and the ability to perform basic repairs and troubleshoot equipment issues
  • Knowledge of moulding techniques, materials and equipment
  • Effective communication and teamwork skills
  • Ability to follow instructions and work independently

  • Injection Moulding Technology – Level 3
