About the Role

We are looking for an experienced and hands-on Engineering Manager to lead all engineering operations on site. This is a key role where you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth and efficient running of production machinery, facilities, and mechanical systems.

This position combines day-to-day operational management with strong technical expertise. You will play a vital role in troubleshooting, maintaining, and continuously improving factory equipment and infrastructure.

In addition, you will be heavily involved in an exciting re-engineering project, initially focused on our hygiene product range, with future expansion into natural and bespoke products. Working closely with the Head of Product, you will support product development, sampling, and the application of CNC and brush pattern design (full training provided).

Key Responsibilities

Lead and manage all engineering and maintenance activities across the site
Provide hands-on support with mechanical and electrical troubleshooting
Ensure production machinery and facilities are maintained for maximum reliability and efficiency
Program and support industrial equipment, including PLCs and brush-making machinery
Develop and manage engineering projects, including new product development and facility improvements
Oversee tool room operations, ensuring effective support to manufacturing
Manage engineering budgets and identify cost-effective solutions and investment opportunities
Build strong relationships with OEM suppliers
Drive continuous improvement through best practices, Lean methodologies, and innovation
Ensure all engineering procedures and documentation are accurate and up to date
Lead, motivate, and develop the engineering team, supporting training and progression
Promote and maintain a strong Health & Safety culture across the site.
 

What We’re Looking For

We are looking for someone who is both technically strong and a natural leader, with the ability to get involved at all levels.

Strong mechanical engineering background with hands-on maintenance and troubleshooting experience
Solid understanding of CNC machinery, including operation, maintenance, and fault finding
Experience with factory machinery in a production environment
Proven ability to lead and develop teams
Excellent organisational and communication skills
Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
Driven to improve performance and operational efficiency

Qualifications

HNC/HND or Batchelor’s Degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing, or Production Engineering (or equivalent vocational qualification)

What We Offer
Competitive salary up to £45,000 depending on experience

Working Hours: Monday – Thursday 8:00am–4:45pm, Friday 8:00am–3:45pm (39 hours per week)
25 days holiday plus bank holidays
On-site parking and access to an on-site gym.
