Key Role Information

The kitchen assistant keep the kitchen running smoothly by washing up, cleaning and assisting in the preparation of food in line with our values and culture.

 

30 hours per week, including weekend working.

Duties and Responsibilities

 

  • Assisting with the smooth running of the kitchen production areas
  • Washing dishes manually and also by using the dishwasher, as well as the cleaning of pots, pans and any other kitchen utensils
  • Assisting in basic food preparation
  • Maintain the kitchen work areas in accordance with HACCP regulations.
  • Storing away all crockery, cutlery and glassware and handling all with great care
  • Sweeping and mopping the kitchen floor.
  • Emptying bins when they are full.
  • Making sure that all kitchen equipment like food mixers, fridges, cookers are in good working order.
  • Reporting any fault equipment to the kitchen manager.
  • Keeping the storerooms well stocked and organized at all times.
  • Keeping breakages down to a minimum.
  • Complying with the daily cleaning rotas.
  • Accepting food deliveries from suppliers and storing them.
  • Using the correct amount of specialist chemicals when cleaning work surfaces and equipment.
