Duster dandy brushes are excellent for stabled rugged, clipped horses in winter and all horses and ponies in their summer coats. Nice and soft for those sensitive to groom and great for flicking out dust and scurf. Lacquered curved wood backs. Available in 3 sizes and various colours.

Our dandy brushes are excellent for removing mud and dirt and can be used all over the body as part of a thorough groom. Which type of dandy brush depends on the type of coat your horse has, the time of year, whether your horse lives in or out, as well as your own preference.
The standard polypropylene dandy brush is ideal for mud removal on horses living out, and particularly useful on thick muddy winter coats, but not the right choice for a horse with a fine or clipped coat. The polypropylene duster dandy brush is however excellent for the latter, and an ideal grooming brush on any type of horse or pony in his summer coat - use to brush out the dust before using the body brush.
Our natural fibre dandy brushes on the next page shouldalways be considered as part of ones grooming kit. In particular they are good for brushing dry mud off the body, legs and heels. They are soft enough to use on the bodies of some finer or clipped horses for dirt and scurf removal - first go over the body with a rubber curry comb and then use before the body brush during a thorough groom.

The traditional hard wearing, long lasting, coarse dandy brush for all types of horses and ponies. Lacquered curved wood back, filled with natural Bassine. 40mm trim.

MEXICAN WHISK DANDY BRUSH
An excellent dandy brush for brushing off mud from both summer and winter coats. Particularly good for horses who take exception to mud removal via plastic curry combs. Good for brushing dry mud off legs and heels. Can also be used as a water brush. 40mm trim Mexican whisk with waxed curved wood back. Medium size only (186 x 64mm).

Natural Bassine and Mexican Whisk dandy brushes are fantastic for removing caked dry mud from the whole body after a horse has rolled in the field, and good for getting dry mud off legs including heals and feathers after hunting or cross country riding in deep muddy going. Use instead of a plastic curry comb or polypropylene dandy brush on more sensitive horses. Also good to use for scurf removal as part of a thorough groom.
